Laminate floor sealant?

Laminate floor sealant?
I have just installed laminate flooring and the directions say to use a sealant to fill the expansion gap in "wet areas". For the kitchen and bathroom, do I need to use the specific sealant that you find with the laminate flooring or can I use the general kitchen/bathroom sealant?
