Quick step Laminate on top of Pine planks?

I have pine planks, the looks of which I donít like. Can I install quickstep laminates (It is 8 mm in thickness) on top of it? Or should I remove the existing pine floor that is ĺ" thick and put plywood so that the finished height meets existing ĺ" thickness?

Also is it necessery to put a cork underlayment before installing the quick step 8 mm Elegance ?

You should always go with what the manufacturer's instructions say. Here's Quick Steps installation instructions.

About planks are on page 2 #4 under "PLANK FLOOR"

I hope this helps
