When hardwood meets ceramic tile!

I am planning to have a go at installing new harwood and tile flooring, they will meet in 3 different places, what do i use for the step between the two? (harwood is 3/4" thick)

If ceramic tile and hardwood are the same height, leave the 3/4" expansion gap and drop in a wood T-molding.

Question Tile/Carpet

Almost the same question:

Same amount of room for a tile/carpet transition?

I put in a hardwood floor in my sun room several months ago. It butted into tile in my kitchen. The tile was about 3/8 inch lower than the top of the hardwood. I notched the bottom of each piece of hardwood that butted up agains the tile to overlap the tile about 1/4 inch. Then I cut and shaped a piece of 1/4 round from the hardwood left overs and carefully tacked it into the hardwood at the seam. You can also buy transition strips at Home Depot and Lowes.
