3/4 vs 3/8 solid wood. What are the pros & cons.

Can anyone tell me what the pros & cons are of 3/4" solid wood compared to 3/8" or 5/16" laid on concrete.
Thanks,
Gene

I may be wrong, but most of the thinner floors are engineered flors, as in plywood. They are less prone to warping than a comparable thickness fo real(solid) wood. On a concrete floor, you need to be absolutely sure there is no moisture coming up thru the slab. Cut a piece of plastic or aluminum foil, tape it to the floor, sealing all edges. Tell us what you see after a few days, it should be dry. If not, wood is not s good idea.
