Wood or Laminate Treads over existing Stairs

I need advice on where to find replacement treads for existing stairs. I'm finishing my basement and do not want to remove the existing construction-grade treads. But instead of carpeting over the treads I was wondering if there are alternatives like replacement oak treads or false oak treads that I can affix to the existing treads. I found one web store selling replacement red oak treads. Just wondering if there are other alternatives or more stores selling similar solutions?

Question Me, too!

I also have this issue. We want to rip the carpet off the steps and replace with laminate. The stairs themselves are made of OSB, so just painting them is not an option.

Any help on this?

Yes, Do a google for hardwood stair treads.

Wilsonart makes laminate stair treads, to overlay framed treads.

That Wilsonart tread looks real nice, but, WOW, expensive! Looks like about $74 per tread!
I also found others, like Bruce and Pergo, sell a bullnose piece that locks into regular planks, I'll have to try to price out that way and make a comparison.

Thanks for the tip!
