how to repair solid wood flooring that has deep burn marks

I hope someone can help me, I have recently burned about 5 quite deep marks into my solid wood floor in the living room through coals falling from our stove. As my husband is just after an operation and doesn't need to be annoyed any further, I would appreciate some help in fixing it other than putting a rug over the offending area (which I have already done). Thanks in advance for your help.

Boards can be moved from inconspicuous areas such as closets to replace damaged boards. In the meantime, a fireproof hearth rug can hide the damage.

You can also lay a slab of granite. It doesn't have to be attached.
