Hardwood installation next to slidling glass door

Hi All,

I am about to begin installation of a hardwood floor in our kitchen. I am all ready to go, but I am not completely sure what to do about the sliding glass door in our kitchen. I know I need to keep 5/16" from all walls/baseboard, but next to the sliding door, should I use a hard surface reducer or something? I can't find any websites that talk about this. Thanks.

Use an endcap reducer. Sometimes called a baby threshold.
