laminate flooring spacing around the edges ...............

it says allwo spacing for expansion....
I am laying down flooring.............
I am redoing our place in the bronx, and two places in PA....
doing laminate flooring now
question
know any good remodeling forums?
and...any of you guys ever lay down laminate flooring/? what is the space you should allow for expansion? some say 1/2 inch, but that looks big....others say 3/16, but that looks small..

called these guys...
they said minimum ...........of at least 1/4....but guy said he has said he has seen installs where they have done as little as 1/8 of inch .......
the isssue is more of a "house moving" vs. a "floor expansion" issue......

instructions say 1/2 inch, but then the trim does not cover it....
so, kinda did some googling.....

what a great GREAT forum
the install is going well.....
will post some pics...
NOW, just found out that the lower left corner where you start the install...where the TOUNGE in against the wall...
just found out I was supposed to cut that off....
oh well
hey, I will get a bigger piece of molding, or a strip to bring the molding out from the wall....build it out...
damn molding is expensive! I hate that !
they lure you in with the flooring price, then KILL you with the extras!
