Add 1/2" Ply for UL before installing 3/4 Hardwood

I am committed to installing 1/2" ply before I install my 3/4" hardwood as I want to lay my hardwood floors a certain way, which happens to be parallel to my joists.

I have purchased 4ply CDX and will be installing that soon.

Question: What kind of screws is recommended and how how many screws on the perimeter and in the field should I use?

No doubt use liquid nails under the ply before you screw it down! If it is a hi-bor or treated plywood, I would use a rust resistant type of screw. I would also screw at 6"-8" grids. You can't have too many screws and are cheap insurance.
