Laminate Flooring around Stairs

Hi,

I have a townhouse (recently purchased) and I'm going to rip up the old carpeting in the living room/dining room area and replace it with Laminate. Now I've installed laminate several times in bedrooms, but never this large. I think I've figured out how to install it near the stairs (while using the trim kit) but what I don't know is how I get around the hand rails for the stairs? I have (i think it is) wrought iron, hand rail that goes from the ground floor up and around all the way up to the 3rd floor. It's all one piece. My question is, how do I install laminate around this. I think it's screwed into the floor, but does that mean I have to remove the entire handrail for the one floor? Is there a good way I guess of notching the pieces? What does everyone usually do in this situation? Thanks...Travis

Not a pro here, but I'm trying to picture what you're talking about. Not that you didn't explain it well, but I just have a bad imagination. Can you post a pic?
