GAPs under Door Jams/Casings and Wood Floor

Just got some flooring installed and there is a gap under the door casings where it meets the floor. I can slide a thin magazine between the two. Is there any way to get rid of this or fill it in with something?

Welcome to the forums!

If the woodwork is painted you can carefully caulk the gap.
You can use colored putty on stained trim.

How thick is a thin magazine???

Caulking works for thin gaps, but 1/4" is unacceptable if they were undercut by the installer.

I have been in homes where the door casing, was already cut too high.

You dont say what you have there for heat and cool. Do you have a cold air return in that room?????? If not then you do need the door to be about 2 " up off floor or a rug. So air can get back to the blower.

Better check. I dont know how many doors that I have had cut off. In homes when the heat and AC dont work right. After new flooring has been put in. like I asked if there is no cold air return in the room. Then you need it to get out of the room under the door or a grill in the door. IF YOU WANT HEAT AND COOL IN THAT ROOM.

So not sure if they mean just the door or just in the caseing

I gotcha. Sounds like the OP is talking about he jam and not the actual door.
