removing excess dried floor oil from oak

Red face removing excess dried floor oil from oak

Left the oil on too long and floor is patchy - what is the easiest way to recover from this - please???

Oil stain or oil finish?

Have you tried wiping it with a wet/damp thinner rag?

It was Sadolin floor oil - rang tech support and they suggested sanding, wiping with thinners then re-oiling. Done this and looks ok----- so far ;-)
