2x6 hardwood floor???

just wondering if there is any thing wrong with
gluing/screwing 2x6, 2x8 T&G right on top of the
floor joist and having this as the finished floor?
i would not use any plywood. I am cutting/planing/T&Ging
the wood myself and would dry it to 10% +-? is this a bad idea?????

It can be done. What species of wood. If it is Pine, I would reconsider, unless you like a rustic dented looking floor, in a short period.

I would think you would want some kind of barrier to air infiltration.
