stacking subfloors

I'm putting in laminate flooring in my living and dinning areas. I currently have 3/4" t&g. can I just nail down 1/4 ply over it to smooth out planks/sags? I was really looking to keep pricing minimal.
My flooring is swiftlock plus w/the pre attached pad

3/8 minimum!! If you don't somewhat fix the big sags and big waves, the plywood is not going to help you.

You can go directly over the existing, as long as you run the wood, in the opposite direction, or on a 45
