Caulk baseboards to floated floor?

Just finished installing an engineered wood floor, everything went just fine and it looks great.

The product we selected, though, has a scraped surface and the baseboards aren't flush with the floor across the whole wall. Normally I'd just run a bead of caulk around the bottom of the baseboard, but since we floated the floor I'm concerned that might be a mistake...

What do y'all think?

Install shoe molding, it will hide all the inconsistencies in the way the baseboard lays against the floor.
