Scratched Hardwood

My one kid decided to put on his hockey shinpads and crawl across to the front room. Left about a 6' path where he took lateral thin scrapes out of the finished layer of solid plank hardwood in a red oak color.

Is there a simple remedy?

Most prefinished hardwood flooring manufacturers have touch up kits. But, as you describe the damage, it is likely that a touch up kit will not be a simple fix for your problem. This means that the entire floor will have to be lightly sanded and refinished.

Thanks 12

What's involved with the touch up kits? Is there a color match crayon or something then some form of clear applied over?

If I can make it 75% less obvious I'd be okay with that. If I get a chance tonight, I can post a pic or two...
