Smile problems with laminated floor

Just installed laminated flooring in my lounge. We have french doors that lead into the garden. everytime it rains, water now comes into the lounge where the french doors are. This never happened when we had carpets, have we missed something out when installing? We did put underlay before laying the laminate flooring.

Are you sure that the water was not a problem when the carpet was there and it went undiscovered? A bead of silicone caulk should have been run along and underneath the threshold of the French doors to seal and keep out water. Check the threshold on the exterior to see if a bead of exterior silicone caulk should be run to seal the gap. Also check to see if the weatherstripping on the French doors is intact and does not need adjustment.

Is there a gutter overhead the French doors? Is it clear and the downspout clear and water properly directed away from structure. The only way to know where the water goes is to grab the umbrella and go outdoors during rain. Often times melting snow and rain will travel down behind gutter and onto windows and doors where water can enter. Sometimes the water travels behind the soffit and fascia into wall voids. It is important to investigate to determine why there is suddenly an issue with the water at the French doors. Installation of new flooring is likely coincidental with the water issue.
