Cool Question? American Cherry Engineered Flooring

Help - I'm a newby thinking of installing 5", plank, American Cherry scraped engineered flooring in most of my house. Has anyone any experience with this type of hardwood. I know it is 26% or so softer than oak but is this a real problem. We are an older couple with no dogs or kids around most of the time. We don't want to be too careful of our floors but we aren't that hard on our stuff either. My wife loves the color and look of this floor and it goes very nicely with our rather dark cherry stained maple cabinets. We have looked at lots of other woods but this particular one appeals to both of us. We looked a lumber liquidators, Simple floors and another small retail store.

The hardness ratings do not apply to engineered wood.

The handscraped is going to absorb the abuse, if any, and only adding to the beauty of the floor you chose.
