Prep for laminate floor

I tore up some carpet, and don't know what kind it was. There were no tack strips, and it pulled up fairly easily as though there was a light adhesive holding it. The floor was left with what I'm guessing is a bit of the adhesive. It is solid and flat, and not sticky. It is a very thin layer of whatever it is. I am hoping to lay the pad and laminate without having to sand all of it off. Is there any way it could cause a problem for the laminate? How about glue left under vinyl flooring if it is smooth - can I lay the pad and laminate over that as well? Thanks for any advice!

I dont see why not.
Im not a flooring expert, but if the floor is solid and flat I dont see a problem with the pad/underlay on that, then your laminate.
Perhaps the flooring pros on here may offer their expertise..
