Need advice befor I lay laminate Flooring
I'm wanting to lay some Bruce laminating flooring throughout the whole house. After pulling up the carpet this is what I found. This is persistent throughout the house's outside walls. Any where from 1/8” to 1/2”. I'd say most is about 1/4" I thought about renting a floor edge grinder but I'm just not sure if that's how this problem should be solved. aside from this the slab looks good everywhere else, no cracks, no wet spots, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that is ugly. I would bring up the floor to meet this almost half inch lip. I would not advise using self leveling concrete, (cracks) but some duro-rock, or another backer board product that is stable when fastened to concrete. Float cracks or any other imperfections with thin set.
You could also lay PT fur or 2X4s and go with the traditional three quarter inch 4X8 sheets for a new subfloor. As long as this is not a moist area, you should be fine and of course you don't mind losing the 2+ inches of head space.
