Refinishing Wood Floor...help!

Any tips or hints to sanding the floor, applying the stain and poly?

How many coats of stain should I use on the floor? How long between coats should I let the stain dry?

How many coats of poly should I put on the floor? How long between coats should I let dry?

How long should I wait before putting appliances back in place?

Oil base products take longer to dry than their waterbased counterparts but IMHO oil base is better.

1 coat of stain is best! it is difficult for the wood to obsorb multiple coats of stain and if the stain isn't good and dry before applying the poly, it might lift

It's usually best to apply 3 coats of poly with a light sanding [and remove dust] between coats. The poly can will give approx drying time. Cool temps or high humidity can slow down the drying time. 72 hrs after the final coat is a good rule of thumb before allowing any heavy traffic.
