Gluing laminate flooring

I know that laminate flooring is meant to "float" and needs an expansion gap all the way around it. But if I wanted to use some for a different purpose on a small section of sloping ceiling (5' x 3') and I installed it using a good construction adhesive would I be OK or would it buckle?

It should be ok. I've made plenty of laminate store displays that we had to glue down to prevent customers from tearing it up, they all lasted. Just keep the expansion gap around the perimeter.

It won't take much adhesive for it to stick.

Stick to the manufacturers specs. Very small areas may be OK, but larger areas it can create big problems fully gluing floating MDF or HDF laminate.
