Hardibacker over concrete slab?

I am going to install a laminate floor (swiftlock) over a concrete slab that has been carpeted for the last 20 years. I need to raise the floor 1/4 inch to meet with the adjoining tile on the same slab. I was thinking of using 1/4 inch Hardiebacker on the slab to accomplish this. Any comments/suggestions/caveats on this idea? Any better ideas? Thanks in advance.

Nope, can't put hardie over concrete.

I would first make sure this slab is FLAT then use a transition piece where it will meet the tile.
