Buckling floor in middle of living room

We purchased our home last year in May. There were pre finished hardwood floors in living room, dining room, and kitchen. We have had trouble with buckling in living room right in the middle of the floor this fall and last fall after we turned the air conditioning off. Last fall the buckle fixed itself but this year it has been been kicked out of the groove and don't know how to get it back together without tearing it apart. It doesn't happen in the spring just in the fall. Had a water leak in kitchen and replaced with tile. The house is 14 years old. Don't know if the flooring was installed when house was built or after.

The floor buckles from an added moisture. Higher humidity can swell the boards. Lack of proper fastening lets the floor go in a tent, with just a little added moisture gain. It usually takes a lot to buckle a floor, but if you said it went back down, it tells me there are no pulled fasteners, to impeed it going back down.

Get a dehumidifier in there, and a hygrometer to keep an eye on humidity levels.
