can i steam clean my laminate flooring?

my husband just finished our living room laminate floors. we have a hard surface steam cleaner that SAYS it's safe for wood floors...my husband says to NOT use it on the laminate b/c it's like a sponge?...i figured i'd ask here to make sure b/c our daughter plays on the floors, and the steam will sanitize it...we have LockNSeal laminate floors. is it gonna be ok for me to steam clean the wood floors like once a week?

"It says"
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No!! DO NOT USE IT ON YOUR LAMINATE, OR WOOD FLOOR!!!! Unless you want to replace the laminate, because the edges swelled and blistered from the moisture.

On wood, you can cause cupping, or buckling and finish loss, with raised grain.

Laminate flooring is not wood flooring. Laminate is a picture of wood on a cardboard substrate. Water will destroy it. I still wouldn't use the machine on real wood either.
