repairing oak floor

have a 1x16 to 1x8 x2 inch dent in red oak 3/4 floor. how do I fix?

you have to replace the entire board that is damaged. I've seen it done on This Old House. They took a hole saw about 1 1/2" and drill out holes in it making sure you don't go into the subfloor. When you install the new piece you have to cut the bottom part of the groove and face nail.
