What is the best finish for engineered floors?

Is aluminum oxide better than polyurethane? Thanks!

If you purchased a prefinished engineered floor and you wish to refinish due to wear, then you can lightly sand and refinish. If you have installed a new engineered wood floor with an aluminum oxide finish and desire to apply new finish, then you are likely spinning your wheels and wasting time and money. If you know the manufacturer of your flooring, contact if you need to apply new finish due to wear, then the manufacturer will provide advice.

I am looking from the perspective of what finish is going to make it more likely that I won't have to refinish. Which is tougher and holds up to wear and tear better? Thanks
