Question dont want mess up carpet installers

Getting ready to install laminate flooring myself and then have installers lay carpet. What i need to know is how close to run laminate flooring to the carpet. Also can i trim it with the 4 in1 trim before they lay the carpet, or do I wait until there done. One last thing i ordered the 4in 1 trim but is it better to pull baseboards any way or just leave them.

Your endcap transitions need to be installed before the carpet guys come in.

Double what the Floorguy says. Always work from hard to soft. Is there any gap under your baseboards, now? Do the baseboards continue in a flow across the hardwood flooring. If so, you can't change the altitude. Leave it be and let the carpet guys space their tack strips out. Ideally you should have a 1/2" gap under the baseboard. I have removed baseboard where carpet is to be installed adjacent to hardwood, ripped off 1/2" and reinstalled it flush to the top. It helps the carpet guys if you do that, but sometimes they are flexible.
