The room I plan on flooring has a bay window. when I get to that part of the floor, how do I transfer the angle to the floor board i wish to cut?

Bay windows are usually 22 1/2 degrees. But since no room has ever been built square or plumb, it could vary a little. You can lay a piece of laminate down square to the angle and take measurements at the short end, measure it and cut it at the angle from zero to your mark.
You can also use an angle finding tool similar to Photobucket
to measure the angle and transfer the cut.
