Question How to clean dirt in between pre finished hardwoods

Everyone that has seen pre-finished hardwoods knows that they have a rounded surface unlike the un-finished floors.

I didn't realize that this rounded surface would create a grove trapping and building up dirt over time leaving dark lines of grime in between each seem.

Now that I have extended the wood floors 2 years after the first half was laid down these dark seems are very noticable.

My question is... Is there a safe way to remove this filth. I know water and wood do not mix but I wasn't sure if maybe they had a "special" steam cleaning treatment for wood floors??

Any help?

Well, no expert and there may be a special tool..but I'd say it would involve a stiff short bristle brush and a lot of hands and knees action...

I sure wouldn't be spraying any cleaner or water in there.
