Epoxy floor paint over VCT?

Hi all,

I currently work in a computer room and I'm looking to redo my VCT floor. Originally, I was told by my company that I should overlay my floor with linoleum stick-on tiles.

I'm not a fan, so I'm looking for alternatives. My floor needs to be static-free, so I'm unable to have carpet. Laminate or wood might be a little pricier and are probably not very friendly to "office-wear".

My office is the main server room for our company, so I'm trying to limit downtime. I can go down for 48-72 hours next month. However, I don't believe I'll have the time to absolutely rip out the existing tile. So I'm looking for an overlay option.

I've seen some pretty high quality looking epoxy floor paint online and wonder if that might be a practical solution to meet my budget, physical, and timing requirements. I'm guessing I could strip, clean, and sand the existing floor and then run the paint right over it.

Does anybody have any thoughts, precautions, or recommendations?
