Make a woodfloor from scratch
#1

I have 1500 board foot of red oak I have finished planing down to 3/4. I want to make my own plank foor for a 12' X 12' room. The board width will be 6". I have read other information stating I need to screw done boards wider than 4". Do I just screw down the ends or do I need to screw down the whole board, in addition to blind nailing? Any suggestions?

You need to screw down the whole floor, 2 screws every 16 or 24 inches. You first must drill countersink holes and after putting in the screws the holes must be filled. If you have planed down the boards, collect the sawdust, and as needed, add some glue with a small amount and use this to fill the holes.
You can also buy hardwood pegs for filling the holes. big job, good luck
