Question

Installing prefinished engineered hardwood planks over wood subfloor (glue down) No obvious moisture problems. What type of barrier (if any) is best to use. Thanks

If there isn't a moisture problem, I wouldn't use a moisture barrier. I would use a quality urethane adhesive, like Bostiks Best, though.

For glue-down flooring, I don't see how you could use a vapor barrier if you wanted to.

John, there are moisture barriers than are troweled on. Franklin made one that was like a foil that was glued down. If you're on a wood subfloor you can use felt paper under the particle board for a little protection or you can use visqueen in the crawl space. Just a few examples that are compatible with glued down installations.
