Question

FLOOR HAD OLD LINOLEUM THAT I COULD NOT GET UP. SO I HAVE TO INSTALL A UNDERLAYMENT

HOW WHAT TYPE OF PLYWOOD SOULD I USE ON THE DEN,DINING ROOM AND BATHROOM FOR UNDERLAYMENT. I,M GOING TO PUT DOWN CARPET.

ACX GRADE OR CDX OR WHAT ??????ALSO DO I NEED A VAPOR BARRIER ?

If the old linoleum is stuck well, I don't see the need for an underlayment if you are going to lay carpet. However, if you decide to install the underlayment, look at 1/4" luan.

I agree. You need no underlayment for carpet (other than the carpet pad). And the linoleum will make an excellent vapor barrier. Not only do I see no reason to remove it, it's actually better to leave it there.
