Question

is there such a thing as an insulated subfloor. we need to keep a cold basement's drafts from getting into the living room. we don't want it too thick, and strip hard wood will be going over it. also is it hard to lay strip wood on an angle instead of straigh against the wall, does it take much more wood??
or is it hard to do a pattern of say 5 or 6 boards following the wall and then the rest on an angle. boy my husband is starting to hate my bright ideas.

Cool

Insulate your floor from the basement side with the vapor barrier up toward your heated space. You will need "tiger claws" (just sraight pieces of wire with sharp ends made for the purpose) to hold the insulation up between the floor joists. Good Luck!
