Fill in gaps?

Not sure where to post this, so I will try here.

I have an old wood wood floor systems that is over 25 years old. It does not appear to be tongue and groove. It appears to be glued down over the sub-floor. The sub-floor is 1 x 12 planks over a vented crawl space. The 1 x 12's are showing gaps between them. Since I have been sealing the house more and more, I am getting gaps between the hardwood flooring. Is there anything I can buy to use between these gaps? Would a simple application of wood putty, then sanding do the trick? I would then apply a coat of poly over the whole floor.

Many thanks in advance, and if I need to post this somewhere else, please let me know.....

If the flooring was glued down, it may be a laminate. It will contract and expand with humidity. Could you post a picture or two of the floor and the problem (not macro shots, please) and post them to a site such as photobucket.com and post them as follows http://forum.doityourself.com/electr...your-post.html. That way we can see what you see.
