oil or water polyuerthane for hardwood floor

We are refinishing light hardwood floors with a darker color: sanding, staining and finish coat. Any thoughts on the advantages of wax, oil based poly or water based poly? Thanks very much

If you can stand the fumes, oil-based poly is the most durable. Water-base poly is often used by residents or installers with chemical sensitivity. If you use water-based, you can make up for it by putting on one more coat than you would have used with oil-based.
