Waterbased finish over oilbased finish?

I refinished our red oak floors with 5 coats of semi-gloss oil-based poly a week ago. The issue is you can see streaks in the finish, parts that are shiny and parts that aren't. I tried buffying it out, but the streaks are still there. Do you think I can lightly sand the floor and then add a coat of waterbased finish over top? I have used this before on bare floors and it never left a streak, but for some reason the oil did.

I'm not fond of applying a waterbased coating over fresh oil base. I'm not convinced it will adhere as well as it should.

Not sure why your final coat didn't come out right. Was it applied properly?[sorry, had to ask] was the poly mixed well?
IMO a better solution would be to lightly sand, remove all dust and then apply a thin coat of oil poly.
