Bleaching hardwoods
I just sanded my oak floors, and still have black stains that need to go before I stain them. I have heard of bleaching to remove those stains, but I am afraid the floors will be uneven in color in those spots. Does anyone know how different the stain would look? Or since I have a lot of stains to remove over 720 sq ft of floor, if I shouldn't go crazy and just bleach all the floors together to acheive an equal staining surface.
Any suggestions?

Black stains in wood usually mean pet stains. If so it means that the wood is actually burned in those areas. Unless sanding can take it out, then using a dark stain is the only thing you can do.
You can still try a sample area though.
