i have to replace some areas of moisture damaged hardwood flooring and subflooring in my house..the moisture problem has been corrected..the house was built by a tract developer and the wood floors are the pre-finished type that lowe's sells.

i do not want to pay for replacing all the wood flooring and intend to do my best to match new and old floor..am i an idiot trying to do the impossible?.any suggestions or helpful information would be appreciated.

Replacing the hardwood alone is not a problem, and completely DIY-able. Replacing the subflooring as well may prove to be a big deal. In order to do the subflooring, you will need to remove enough hardwood to span at least across 3 joists. How much damage are you talking about?
