Question Cat vomit damaged laminate floor

my cat threw up in my living room and it damaged the finish on the laminate. There is a spot without any shine and I don't know how to restore it! I think the acid in the stomach just ate the finish!

Urine can destroy some laminates, too. Any moisture that goes into the seams can swell the backing on some.

Just a suggestion, ...

but, I had the exact same problem with one of my cats throwing up, sometimes two and three times a day, and wanting new flooring, etc. Anyways, my vet ended up changing my cats diet (seems she was allergic to the food I was giving her) and giving her a medication and the vomit has stopped and she's gained lots of weight. Anyways, maybe if you were able to stop the vomiting, your floor options would expand.

Laminate flooring cannot be refinished - if cleaning the spot does not fix the problem, that section would need to be replaced
