Question Laminate Flooring weight question

I am remodeling our kitchen and putting in 12mm Laminate flooring. I want to install it before new cabinets go in, but I am concerned about the weight it will handle. Will it handle the weight of cabinets and granite counter top? Should I wait in install after cabinets and top or installed? Opinions or suggestions. Thanks!

Concerned!

Welcome to the forums!! Laminate can't handle the weight of cabinets, period. The floor is a floating floor and if you capture it under cabinets, it ceases to float and will warp up, really bad. Install cabinets, countertop, then flooring. You may need to use shoe molding attached to the cabinets only, but you can't keep the floor from moving in any direction.

Common to put the cabinets on plywood in cases like this to preserve the original height above the floor.
