Uneven gloss floor finish fix/solution?
I just got my floor refinished. There are some small areas of patches which are shinier than others. Since the areas are small, can I hand sand it down and reapply the floor finish on that area? Will the end result blend in with the rest of the floor?

Sorry, just some additional questions:
I also noticed there are some streaks of the applicator on the floor. Not very serious. Can I use the same method (hand sand and reapply finish) to fix this?
Also, the refinishing was done yesterday. Should I fix this sooner or later or it doesn't matter?

Who did the work? If you paid to have it done - make them come back and make it right!!
Hand sanding is fine but it's rare a touch up can be made and not show. It's best to lightly sand the entire floor and recoat. Depending on the type of transition you might be able to get by with just redoing 1 room.
It doesn't matter a whole lot when you sand and recoat, just remember it takes about 72 hrs for the poly to dry hard enough to be subjected to more than light traffic.

Someone else did the work and I don't want them to come back and redo it since the areas are small.
I am using Streetshoe water-based finish. Does it help in touching up and not showing?

The areas may be small but I would have the person come back, you did not get the results you paid them to provide.
