Home Legend Click Lock Floors from home depot
My husband and I are getting ready to replace our carpets with hardwood floors. We want a sturdy floating hardwood floor since we have dogs and cats. We are looking at the Home Legend Click Lock Teak Cherry or Birch Cherry floors from home depot. Does anyone have any experience with either of these or with the brand home legend? We don't want to spend a ton of money on a bad quality floor. Thank you.

Welcome to the forums! If the flooring is 5/8" thick engineered flooring, I have installed it for a client and they love it. I have HL 3/4" nail down bamboo in my rental cabin and it is standing up pretty good to weekend guests and their 4 legged friends.

Yes, it is the 5/8" thick engineered floor. We did some tests on the samples we got from home depot last night and the samples held up fairly well. Thank you for your information!

home legend flooring
I put down click lock home legend flooring in three bedrooms and closets over 4 years ago. It has held up real well. We have two large dogs and while we trim their nails with a grinder every month, in one room there are some scratches that dont break the color portion, but the scratches do show up in low angle light. Near floor lngth windows in a room facing west. Its the front room where they look out the window and scramle from when they see something. like multiple times a day. But I would not hesitate putting it down agian. Its easy, and what i liked was the no glue. I put it down on a concrete flor, using the foam vapor barrier as protector. It took one day per room. Rip out the molding, take up the carpet, clean, lay down the underlayment, start laying the floor. It takes time to wrap around from the main room into the closet, but its doable. Then reinstal the molding, all done. I have an extra box if i ever needed to do a repair, but its still in the box. I guess if a repair is needed, you would carefully pull it up in the opposite order you put it down, replace the one bad piece(s) and reinstall the rest. Not something i would look forward to, but doable.
It cleans with a floor vac real easy, making the space under your bed not look like a blizzard of dust bunnys in mating season.
