Question Laminate Installation Questions

1. Leave or Remove the Baseboard? The current space has carpet and butts up to baseboard. Can I leave the baseboard installed and run the laminate floor up to the baseboard less the .25" and then install the shoe molding over the flooring to finish off the installation?

2. What grade of padding would you recommend? Armstrong has two versions, the basic and the upgraded premium quality. This again is going in a townhouse on the second floor. The sub-floor material is the original plywood/wafer board used by the builder.

Thanks-

1. Yes. Not ideal, but as long as you nail the shoe molding to the base molding it will work.
2. Is it plywood, OSB or particle board? Face it if they have two versions, one is over kill and the other is bare minimum. You will have to make the choice based on cost and thickness needed or desired (if there is a difference).
