HD or Lowes Underlayment any good?

Hello,

I searched and read a lot about underlayments but could not find a useful answer.
Does HD or Lowes have a good underlayment on plywood for hardwood floor?

Thank you

Staple/nail down I presume. Sure. It's called 15# roofing felt. Now if you are talking laminate or engineered click lock flooring, I like the red underlayment with white dots on it. Called Roberts Airguard. Big orange sells it. Check your manufacturer's suggestion as to underlayment to maintain warranty rights.

Good old rosin paper for hard wood flooring is best if the floor your installing is above a finnished room, #15 felt paper if your close to grade or ground level.

Those are all roofing products, not for use between subfloor and hardwood finish floor.

This is what you need. 36 in. x 166 in. Heavy-Weight Red Rosin Paper-36099/35 at The Home Depot

If you are laying full 3/4" nail/staple down flooring, yes. You haven't said yet, so we're guessing.
