Doberman in the house

We have a huge Doberman that scratches off running every time the Pomerania barks.... Needless to say the wood floors we had redone when we moved in a couple years ago look horrible. We are about to move and are building so thought I would look to see who had a good answer and sounds like tile is best. I disagree with the thought of once it's a little scratched up you get over it especially when you pay so much for nice real wood floors. Anybody have any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums - I moved your question into its own thread to increase visibility.

Personally, I think ceramic tile is going to give you the most durable surface. Vinyl would be my next choice. I would put wood in my house before vinyl but I don't own a dog at the moment.
