Kind of hardwood floor

Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone know what kind of wood floor this is? We just bought an old house (1960s~1970s). The width of each plank is only about 1 1/2 to 2 inch. Some of the planks are damaged so I am trying to find replacement.

Thank you

Looks like red oak. If you can take that register out, maybe you can measure the thickness.

I would have said oak as well but I can't tell red or white by looking.

Definitely oak, probably red oak. I've seen red oak that was closer in color to white oak than what you normally think red oak would look. The color in the wood is dependent on the growing conditions. The wood from a red oak growing on a rocky mountainside will look a lot different than a red oak tree that grew in a lush valley.
