skim coating on tile before putting laminates on?

i was told with different answers regarding this. i plan to install floating laminate floors over existing tiles. the tiles were laid just a few years ago and are still in great condition. we would like to preserve the tiles but wonder if the grout is gonna cause a problem if we lay laminate floors on top of it.

does anyone have any suggestions?

No need to skim coat to fill in the grout. The floor planks have a large surface area, recessed grout lines are not going to make a difference. Use good cushioned underlayment and you should be OK.

Why the change of heart on the flooring. Preserving to go back someday is fine. The problem will be in the fact that you need to undercut the doors and casings to properly install the laminate. That is not reversible if you decide to revert back to tile (casings yes, door jambs no).
