Water Damage on Hardwoods at front door.

I need help solving a mystery, I have engineered hardwoods in my foyer and we have discovered water damage at the door. Everything at the front door is bone dry and under cover from the porch overhang. The floor dooes touch the metal frame of the door frame, could it be causing condensation that could seriously rot the floor abot 8 inches in?
Thanks,
Roger

Welcome to the forums Roger!

I suspect water is coming in under the hardwood. I doubt condensation would cause that much damage. How long ago was the floor installed? when did you first notice the damage?

Thanks for taking interest. The floor has been down for about 8 years and we just noticed the problem. It's so wierd because everything around the door is so dry. It's very breezy around the door, could air cause this much trouble?

If air can come thru the closed door it's likely that water could too
